Class Meeting

We had a small meeting in our class where we discussed our ideas and how they have developed since our brainstorms. By telling our idea we got some great feedback from members of the discussion. For example, we were told it would be very effective to have a narration reading out the story being written as it plays out on the screen. We love this idea and are going to take in on board and bring that into our piece.

We also got ideas by listening to others. One idea we got was using a infinite/endless zoom. This is where you place the camera in one place and zoom in then put the camera where you zoomed into and zoom in again and repeat. This gives the effect of a never ending tunnel and we are going to experiment with using this to zoom in on the writer at the beginning of the piece when she is being introduced. Although we will not do it to this extent, here is an example from the film 'Limitless':

We plan to use these ideas in our piece because we want to begin outside and gradually zoom through a window until you can see the writer inside. This will work well because it will introduce the character in her house which gives the audience the idea that she either writes for fun or works from home. The narration will also work well because it will be as if the writer is telling her story as she writes it.

This meeting was very beneficial to my work because I can now take on board what was discussed and use it to improve and develop my piece.
