First Day of Filming

In our first day of filming we got lots of shots for the opening scene. This is where the writer is beginning to type up her story. One shot we took was a dolly shot through the window of the writer. This was meant to introduce the setting for the audience. However, due to it being sunny outside and not as bright indoors, the writer couldn't be seen through the window. We will attempt this shot again when the lighting is more convenient but if this doesn't work we will use another shot we took. This is a shot again, of the writer but this time zooming in on her. This was easier to shoot because we could use an infinity zoom in order to make it look like we were continuously zooming in when in fact we took two shots zooming in to the window then another through the window so the lighting was better.

We also did some very successful shots, some of which we hadn't planned. One shot we found to be very successful was an over the shoulder shot of the writer. We intended to use this shot whilst she was writing the story but we decided to instead use it as credits, introducing myself, Royann and Dani as the writers of the story. This worked very well because not only is it an interesting shot but it also adds the titles subtly and includes them in the piece.

I am very happy with the way the first day of filming turned out because we got a lot of the opening scene done and most of the clips we filmed we plan to use in our short film. We plan to do some more filming soon.
