Today I created my film poster based on my ideas and what I have seen in other film posters from similar genres. I chose a picture of someone wearing a hoodie then, using Photoshop, I edited it so that you couldn't see the persons face or any of the logos on the hoodie. I also made sure that the background was completely black with just a small spotlight on the hooded figure so that the photo was still clear. Then I made the poster A4 and added text to give the person viewing the poster all the information they need. On the poster I put the title of the short film, the people who made it, the date it's released and I also added what those people have made before to entice the audience if they enjoyed what they have seen from those creators.
I am very pleased with how my poster turned out because it not only looks enticing but also includes all the information needed for the audience and gives an idea of what the short film might be about without giving away too much of the plot. This is how I made my final poster which I would use to advertise my film:
Original image.
There was a logo that I want to remove from the hoodie.
Removed logo.
Made image portrait/longer and added text.
Finished poster.
